![]() EXCITEBIKE 64 SOCCER HOW TOBalls will bounce all over and skilled players will learn how to anticipate shots from all angles. Each arena is surrounded by a force field that extends high into the air. Part of the reason Rocket League works so well is the precise controls and physics system. Using boost, players can temporarily increase their speed across the arena or use a combination of boost and jump to perform an aerial attack. Scattered around each arena are special items, which will fill the player’s boost gauge. A typical match lasts five minutes and will extend into a next goal wins overtime if there’s a tie. Each player is equipped with a rocket-powered car and can drive or jump into the soccer ball to move it around the arena. While there are multiple modes in Rocket League, the main one is of course an insane variation of soccer. Rocket League not only brings back those feelings of joy from years ago, but excels at creating one of the most addictive multiplayer experiences in all of gaming. EXCITEBIKE 64 SOCCER FULLThe framerate was a mess, and the controls were far from optimized, but there was a special appeal to racing full speed at a gigantic soccer ball and knocking it into a net. Prior to Rocket League, my favorite rendition of that type of soccer appeared in Excitebike 64 way back in the year 2000. ![]() If Left Field can pull this off for Nintendo 64, I can't wait to see what it has in store for Dolphin! You're a schmuck if you don't run to your nearest retailer and snap this one up right now.Pushing a soccer ball with a motor vehicle is not a new concept in gaming. Simply put, Excitebike 64 and Wave Race are the best racing games available for Nintendo 64. An excellent selection of varied tracks will keep the single-player mode going strong and multiplayer nuts will go wild over the Up Hill Climb, Soccer, and Stunt Track modes. Excitebike 64 not only lives up to the classic it was inspired by, it takes it all to the next level with a fantastic 3D engine, delightfully realistic physics, intuitive control, brilliantly detailed graphics, ingenious subtleties and tons of options. ![]() The good news is that it only takes 10 minutes with this game to know that the team at Left Field has done its homework. ![]() Def worth a shot if you are into games that are more mechanical and like constant decision making.ĩ7% No Platform SpecifiedExcitebike is one of Nintendo's classic franchises so developer Left Field Studios had a lot to live up to when creating this 64-bit sequel. The hardest difficulty definitely was a bit too much for me, though. ![]() There are also a bunch of fun multiplayer unlockable modes to be enjoyed, which increases the fun. Learning the game can be an incredibly confusing and frustrating experience, but once I got over that learning curve, the game is incredibly fun to play, as going quickly in the courses is incredibly rewarding for making the right decisions. Definitely a huge learning curve on how to best use the controls as there is meter management with turbo, 2 ways to turn with two different sharper cornering types that can all be combined with one another for 8 total variations on how to handle corners, and a distinct physics model to be mastered in order to hit the jumps on each course properly. I am not too familiar with a lot of other bike racing or BMX games but this game felt incredibly technical to play. 60% Nintendo 64Absolutely fascinating racing game. ![]()
